This poll actually ends on Wednesday morning the 9th. I only have two options for duration. We’re picking closing early over only one day.

Summary: Wednesday nearly got them all killed at the Gates Mansion, and Enid leaving was the final act that pushed Wednesday over the edge. Fully panicking, she snuck back into Tyler’s house to make sure that he was ok. It ended with a marriage vow to forever bind Tyler under the protection of the Addams Family Curse. She couldn’t kill another Addams. Not through malice, not by accident, and not by proxy. Ever.

As his wife, she will never be able to get Tyler killed. Not even if she wanted to.

As part 3 of Just a Couple of Teenage Tearaways and the fic written as a direct response to the Kalvin Clein photo shoot: Fall Break

Summary (pending. subject to change post editing): Wednesday decided to spend fall break with Tyler instead of going back to New Jersey or remaining in the dorms. She had little intention of leaving his bed for nearly the entirety of it.

What Tyler needed to learn was that he wasn’t allowed to leave it either.

(Pending) Summary: Mayor Walker’s funeral was a somber affair for most involved. Wednesday, however, couldn’t keep her eyes off of Tyler because Tyler was wearing black for the first time in the short time she’d known him. If he was trying to seduce her, it was incredibly effective.

Outline: [Tyler is in black at a funeral and it drives Wednesday insane. She drags him to the woods immediately. Perhaps a break will provide the clarity she needs and she really wants to suck his cock. Body worship/cock worship ensues]

There is a difference between explaining yourself, and using past experiences to gain sympathy.

I did not ask to know personal details about her life and her past traumas, but it was shoved onto me anyway (in our DMs), without any regards to how it might affect me (or others, in their own conversations). Those past traumas she dumped on us are horrible, yes, but they don’t justify acting insane over FANFICTION.

She has tried to use those troubles she’s going through to manipulate me and others into doing what she wanted us to do, and when we didn’t succumb to those manipulation tactics she started throwing tantrums.

I have very low tolerance to people trying to benefit off of my kindness and good heart.

As to the story existing beforehand I find it hard to believe since she brainstormed ideas for it in a discord server we were both part of. She even tagged me, saying - and this is a direct quote: “I blame @wincestation for making me want to start a new fic.”

Either way, the question of the fic’s originality/inspiration no longer interests me in the slightest. Trust me when I say I regret ever contacting her regarding it.

I never wanted her story off of ao3, just her harassment in her AN removed.

Key thing here is... what did she want you to do? Because as far as I've seen, she has only ever asked to please stop being mentioned/contacted about this topic, so I'm not aware of her ever asking to do anything specific for her.

I don’t understand your question. I cut all ties with her when I blocked her. I didn’t mention her or contact her ever since.

My post was made because someone started commenting as a guest on my story in ao3 and calling me a bully. It made me realize that clearly, ignoring her won’t make her stop, so I might as well say something to paint a more accurate picture of the situation.

That announcement was only made in the first place because she brought the entire issue out into Tumblr and was misrepresenting the situation. She doesn't get to own the narrative nor does she get to act like a victim of breached privacy when she was the one to breach her own privacy and details were deliberately scarce to protect what was left of it.

Server rules very clearly state not to share server content without the permission of anyone/everyone involved in the conversation to protect people's privacy. This is a rule that has been in effect since day one. That is the primary reason she was banned from the server.

And a reminder that she leaked my dms which if we're talking about privacy feels important to mention. And I still don't understand why she did when they just show the effort I put into being fair, professional, and reasonable during the entire situation.

And to be extremely clear, at no point. Ever. Have I endorsed, encouraged, or otherwsie allowed harassment or death threats or whatever else has been claimed. I've made it clear that I don't believe in such things and consequences will follow if I find out anyone in the server has sent death threats/suicide baiting/etc.

Now this was meant to be brief so I'll leave it at that for now. I have work soon and I can't be glued to this nightmare all day today.

A Guide to Using the "Inspired By" Function on AO3

The "inspired by" function allows writers to display fanfics that inspired their own fanfic neatly in the "notes" section via a link. It is used to credit inspiration, for archival purposes, and also for translations, remixes, and podfics.

It is a very fun function because it encourages community, and even gives your readers something else to read while they wait for your own fic to update. It can help people who really like a certain trope or writing idea easily find another fic just like it. And, if you use the function, the writer you are inspired by can choose to link it back to their own fic. So, at the end of their fic it will say, "works inspired by this one," and list yours.

"How can I tell if I should use the "inspired by" function or not?"

You should use the inspired by function if you are directly inspired by another fic. I have done this twice, and it is splendid. One of my besties and I have fics that are attached by this function. It's like they're holding hands via "inspired by" links :' )

If you read a fic, and at the end you're like, "Wow, this was totally radical, and now my gears are turning with an idea just like this one, but I'm gonna add my own spin to it." That would be a moment that calls for the "inspired by" function.

A situation that doesn't call for the inspired by function is two fics that are similar in trope, but the second one was not inspired by the first. For example; let's say person A writes a coffee shop AU fic, which is a very common trope, and person B also writes one, but without having ever read person A's fic, or without directly getting the idea directly from person A. Person B was not inspired by person A.

Let's say person B did read the fic, then also eventually decided to write a coffee shop AU that was completely different, and had very little in common with A's fic. That would not be a moment where the "inspired by" function would be necessary. B could use their own judgement to gauge how inspired they were by A's fic.

But, let's say person B really, really loved person A's fic, and wanted to show everyone another coffee shop AU. Person B very well could still use the "inspired by" function just to have the link. Or, they could just link the fic in their "Notes" section, but i personally think the inspired by function is a little easier than creating a "notes" link on ao3 LOL.

However, I have seen some people just list a fic they are inspired by in the notes section without any issues, but I encourage people to use the inspired by function. If you're unsure, maybe ask the author that you're inspired by if they care. If you ever don't use the "inspired by" function, and step on another writer's toes, just simply talk it out and credit.

"But, Mermaid, if I use the "inspired by" function, won't it look like my fic belongs to the original person?"

No?? I am including this because I've seen a surprising amount of people say this and it bugs me. If you use the "inspired by" function, it links the fic you were inspired by in the "notes" section in first chapter. That's it. It doesn't say, "this fic belongs to this other writer," lol. It says, "Inspired by (insert fic) by (insert author)," one single time. After that, it will not be listed in future chapters. Your name will always be on it, and it will only be listed on your account like usual.

To conclude, you should use the "inspired by" function if you are directly inspired by another person's fic. if you're not, then don't use it. Easy peasy. I encourage its use because it's very fun, it is part of fandom etiquette to use it when needed, it allows people to recommend fics similar to theirs, credit another person's idea they used, etc.
